Pastoral Care

AIS boasts a strong pastoral care program which provides support for all students with the adjustment to a new school, a new country, a different environment and different cultures.

Year Coordinators at each year level work with class teachers (Junior and Primary) and home group teachers (Secondary) to monitor the student's academic progress and advise the students and parents on areas of concern.

Three full-time School Counsellors support the pastoral care and learning support programs through training programs, individual and group counselling, orientation sessions and a "buddy system" for new students.

Excellence and achievement in academic work, sports, art, music and other activities are recognised.

Regular written reports to parents and parent-teacher interviews form an important part of the school year.

A firm and caring discipline policy encourages personal growth and responsibility.

There are a team of qualified nurses on campus from 8am-4pm.

A Personal development program exists in the Primary and Secondary Schools.

An OPEN DOOR policy is encouraged for parents and students in need.
