Primary School Enrolments
Primary School is from Year 3 to Year 5. Students may enter at any time throughout the year (subject to availability of places). Two years of previous school reports must be supplied with the application and these reports are assessed by the Head of Primary School, Mr Peter Allison. Mr Allison may also require an ACER test, should there be any concerns about literacy or numeracy. Applicants should also submit a copy of their latest NAPLAN results if they are applying from Australia. These tests can be performed under the supervision of a teacher at a current school. If you would like to contact a Registrar regarding a Primary School enrolment, please contact Gina Anstee on +65 63193778. Middle School EnrolmentsMiddle School at AISS is from Year 6 to Year 9. Students may enter at any time during the year (subject to availability of places). Please note that camps take place in the first two weeks of Term 2 and should a student be commencing at this time, there may be a requirement to attend camp. Middle School enrolments are assessed by the Head of Middle School, Mr Ashleigh Martin and typically a student will be required to undertake an ACER test as a part of the enrolment process, should they not provide a copy of their NAPLAN results (if coming from Australia). These tests may be competed at the student’s current school. If you would like to contact a Registrar regarding a Middle School enrolment, please contact Gina Anstee on +65 63193778. Senior School EnrolmentsEntry to Year 11 & 12, for the Higher School Certificate (HSC) qualification is subject to assessment of prior learning. Students joining from education systems other than Australia need to have their study program approved by the Head of Senior School, Mr Vink to ensure a smooth transition into the HSC course. Year 10 literacy and numeracy tests may also be requested by the Head of Senior School. These tests may be completed at the student’s current school. If you would like to contact a Registrar regarding a Senior School enrolment, please contact Gina Anstee on +65 63193778. Students with Learning NeedsAdmission to the learning support program is contingent upon a match between the student’s needs and the level of services available. AISS is unable to offer a full continuum of special education programs and for that reason, applicants will be assessed on a case-by- case basis to determine if learning support is required. Positions for students requiring learning support are limited. Capacity to fully access the mainstream curriculum will be a prime consideration.
There are some students for whom AISS is not able to provide a support program. Support is not available for students with intellectual disabilities, physical handicaps or pronounced social, emotional or behavioural difficulties. Students with learning differences must be able to function within a regular classroom given the available support services. Student AccommodationFor students requiring accommodation, AISS is able to assist with home stay accommodation. The International Coordinator, Johanna Nuttall, will coordinate visits to family homestays and assist international students during their stay in Singapore. Student Passes Students requiring a Student Pass must contact the applicable Enrolments Registrar. AISS will sponsor students applying for a student pass to study at the School if the enrolment is accepted and provided all enrolment conditions are met. |
