Congratulations to this group of young AISS cricketers who have enjoyed an undefeated season of cricket winning both the ACSIS International Schools Competition and most recently the Singapore Cricket Association Inter Schools Tournament for 2010.
They have defeated all other international schools in the process, and local players and teams in the SCA Tournament. Jackson Anstee received the additional honor of being named SCA Bowler of the Series.
Teams from other schools and organisations included UWC, Tanglin, OFS, Combined Schools, Global Indian School, NPSI, Singapore Cricket Club, Singapore Cricket Association and the Rex Martens Academy.
The AISS Under 13 boys are to be highly commended on their play and sportsmanship throughout both tournaments, and are a product of the cricket programs developed at the school over the past 4 years spawning from Milo In2Cricket (2007-2010) on Saturday mornings organised by Maria Salmon, and the School cricket CCA currently coordinated by Tim Hudson. This particular team has excellent depth, which saw the team win a few tight games.
The AISS boys love playing cricket despite the heat and humidity of Singapore, and we look forward to further involvement this year with AISS fielding teams in the Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 Howzat Cricket Competitions from September through until November.
