MUSIC - Mr Simon Hughes

Music Department commitments for ANZAC Day 2014

Selected students from Mrs Winton’s Years 6, 7 and 8 Choir and Ms McKerrow’s Chamber Choir will be performing at the Kranji ANZAC Day Dawn Service next Friday, 25 April.

Miss McKerrow and our Music Assistants are collating the bus information. If there are any queries please direct them to music@ais.com.sg.

During Week 2, the combined ANZAC choir will also sing at one of the Upper Elementary School’s Tuesday service and the Secondary School’s ANZAC service on Wednesday prior to the Kranji Dawn Service.

AIS have provided a choir at the Kranji Dawn Service every year since the School’s opening. It is one of the oldest traditions that the School has and is a very poignant and moving service.

The following are the performance times that will take place next week. Your child’s teacher is aware of these rehearsals and will assist the children to meet their commitments.

Concordis rehearsal will be on next week

Despite Parent Teacher interviews Concordis will go ahead next Thursday. Mr Winton has already contacted all of the students and organised them to be at rehearsal. Concordis is currently preparing two movements from a piano concerto by Beethoven. Isaac Tan will be the soloist. This will be presented at our Annual Music Ensemble Evening that will be held on Wednesday, 4 June this term. It is very important that students attend all rehearsals.
