EXECUTIVE POSITIONS

The position of Principal at the Australian International School (AIS) in Singapore will become vacant at the end of the 2017 academic year. AIS is therefore seeking to fill the position commencing January 2018.

AIS is a school comprising 2,500 students aged from 18 months to 18 years. Our curriculums include the PYP; IGCSE’s; the New South Wales Higher School Certificate and the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Our students graduate to Australian Universities and other universities worldwide. 1,800 of our students are Australian, with the remainder joining our school from across the world and the School operates a Southern Hemisphere school year. The School provides a strong CCA/Outdoor program; sports program, and is particularly strong in the Arts. The School is globally focussed yet distinctly Australian.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience and most likely will have worked as a Head of a ‘mid-range’ size school of up to 1,000 children, or a Deputy Head (or equivalent) in a large school. It is most likely that the candidate will have experience of either the NSW HSC or the IBDP.

The Principal is responsible for the academic programs across the whole school. His/her direct reports include the Head of Early Years, Head of Elementary and the Head of the Secondary Schools. The Principal will report directly to the Head of School, who has the overall responsibility for the School.

Mr Andre Casson, the current Principal, is the Head Elect of the Australian International School in Singapore. Andre will take over from me at the end of the 2017 calendar year, by which time we will have found his replacement for the Principal position.
