On Saturday, 21 and Sunday, 22 June AIS was proud to be an official partner of the inaugural World Club 10s Rugby Tournament at the new Singapore National Stadium. Some of our Secondary School students had the opportunity to volunteer as ball boys and girls over the weekend. Arriving early at the stadium each day the students put in some long hours and helped the tournament run smoothly. Along the way they got to meet some real rugby legends and had front row seats for some top class competition.
The tournament topped off a great week of rugby for AIS, having hosted tournament runners-up, the Brumbies, here on the AIS Oval earlier in the week as they prepared for the competition. The Brumbies narrowly lost out to the Auckland Blues on Sunday in an exciting final that saw the match go to extra time. It was a great weekend with lots of AIS families attending to watch the games. Our own AIS junior rugby team had a taste of the competition playing three games in the Under 11 stages.
Congratulations to all the players and volunteers, we are already looking forward to next year’s tournament!
