Australian International School held a free workshop on Wednesday for over 20 parents and caregivers at its Early Years Centre on developing young learners’ fine motor skills.
The hands-on information session was led by paediatric occupational therapist from Up up & Away Raheli Kremnizer, who shared easy-to-do, inexpensive at-home activities for children to develop their fine motor skills.
Her specially recommended activities and games aim to improve children’s posture and motor skills essential to reading and writing, hand eye coordination and hand and finger muscle movement and control.
Such purposeful play is at the heart of the AIS Early Years Centre, where both the curriculum and physical classroom environment are designed to be challenging and stimulating for Nursery and Preschool students.
This session is the first of a series of workshops hosted by the AIS EYC open to public. Keep a look out on our calendar listings for our next workshop.
