AIS senior students thank their teachers for Home Based Learning experiences
As of Tuesday, 2 June 2020, the AIS campus in Lorong Chuan reopens for ‘in school learning’. After a period of ‘home based learning’, we know that our students, parents and staff are highly anticipating the return to school in line with Stage 1 of the easing of Singapore’s Circuit Breaker.
AIS’ re-opening must comply with strict regulations set down by the Singaporean Government which applies to all schools. A considerable amount of planning has been done and procedures implemented to keep our community safe and our aim remains to stay open once we have reopened. Some of these procedures put in place include ‘safe entry’, infrared thermometers for twice daily taking of temperatures, face masks/shields to be worn at all times, strict drop-off and pick-up procedures and social distancing measures to name a few.
A list of measures that have been undertaken by AIS and can be found HERE. You will need your family login details to access this information.
AIS teachers and teacher assistants cannot wait to get back into the classroom and meet with their students face to face after weeks of home-based learning. The classroom experience may feel different, but with the careful planning, hard work and commitment of our School leaders, teachers and support staff, we will ensure the best possible experience for students.
The AIS Nursing Team’s focus will be on maintaining the health and wellbeing of everyone. We have 10 dedicated nurses across three key locations on the AIS campus: The Nursing Room in our Secondary school; the Main Health Centre in our Elementary School; and in the Early Learning Village Health Centre. This ensures that students across campus have easy access to nursing staff and health facilities. For more information regarding the AIS Nursing Teams response to COVID-19, please read this ARTICLE on our blog.
Students are returning to school after having enough time at home to settle into new routines and patterns. They might feel a wide range of emotions, from excitement to anxiety in the thought of returning. They may even have conflicting emotions co-existing. This is totally normal. Our AIS Wellness Team will be working with teachers and students as we return to school to assist with the transition back on campus. If you’re an AIS parent and you have concerns about your child, please reach out to the Wellbeing Team here: StaffSecondaryCounsellors@ais.com.sg
