The Australian International School (AIS)'s has a 1:1 iPad program, which runs across the entire Elementary School from Prep to Year 5 has one single objective: to improve each child’s educational outcomes throughout their childhood development through digital literacy.
It is unlikely that your child will need to be taught how to use this technology, but instead can use their iPad to facilitate and extend their learning. In this way, our teachers use technology to support the development of the digital education of each child through exploration, research, communication, photography and videography – they are even used to create a digital record of each child’s work through the School year.
Digital Citizenship
Your child’s safety and good citizenship online is fostered through an age-appropriate classroom program, delivered by Elementary School Digital Learning Teacher.
Your child will be encouraged to ask themselves five key questions when using their connective device in class:
- I am safe
- I am appropriate
- I am on task
- I am respectful
- I am honest
This program places the child in a place of responsibility in relation to their action, linking seamlessly to the Elementary School’s positive (or restorative practices) approach to behaviour management.
