As part of The Australian International School’s Mentors and Inventors program, Isaiah Firebrace visited AIS this week to speak to students about his journey towards becoming Eurovision Song Contest contestant and Australian X Factor 2016 winner.

During his visit Isaiah gave inspirational talks to the AIS year 6-8 choir and year 9-12 elective music students, speaking about his journey from singing at the age of 3, through to becoming a signed artist and achieving success in X Factor 2016. Isaiah showcased his vocal abilities by singing a rendition of Beyonce’s ‘Halo’ and shared that he got to where he is today through shear “perseverance, a positive attitude and passion”, advising AIS students to “always do your best and always be yourself”.

Year 12 student and aspiring musican, Flo Olavarria Godoy also performed her own song for Isaiah which was met with excellent feedback and applause from both Isaiah and his management.
Reflecting on Isiah’s visit, Year 11 student Kapil Bhuta said: “Isaiah Firebrace’s visit to the school was a very memorable experience. He taught us many important skills, not just important in our musical journeys, but also skills that we can apply throughout our lives. It was very interesting hearing how someone with such a fantastic, and to put it simply, motivated attitude has got him this far, and this no doubt inspired each and everyone one of us in the room”.
