Our Library

In an age defined by connectivity and global collaboration, AIS libraries are information hubs providing 24/7 access to dedicated library websites which contain a wealth of carefully selected digital resources.

The libraries facilitate collaboration between students, staff, parents and the wider school community through the provision of vibrant, flexible spaces, both physical and virtual. These rich learning environments cater for individual learning preferences and contribute to intellectual quality and academic excellence.

Specialist library staff empower students as learners. Support for inquiry learning is provided through a sequential development of skills which enable students to successfully engage in a digital information environment.

AIS Libraries inspire a love of literature through a rich and diverse collection of print and electronic fiction. A strong reading culture in the School is fostered through regular reading experiences in the library, author visits and other literary events.

AIS Parent's Association

Message from the President

On behalf of the Australian International School Parents Association (AISPA) I would like to extend a warm welcome to our students and their families. We look forward to reconnecting with returning families, teachers and staff, and getting to know all newcomers.

The primary objective of the Parents Association is to promote community spirit at AIS. Whether you are new to AIS or a long term family, there is something for everyone in our community. In addition to the many events held throughout the year, we are here to help you and your family settle in to school and life in Singapore, providing information, resources and most of all, friendship.

We know that all of our parents are busy with the demands of everyday life, but we also know that even a small contribution of your time and energy can significantly contribute to our efforts to foster a vibrant and nurturing community. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents and get involved in the life of the school. We welcome your participation and I assure that that it is a worthwhile endeavour that you will find personally rewarding and fun!

Please feel free to stop by our office at the Main Campus reception between 8.15 am to 12.00pm then 1.00pm to 4.00pm. We are always happy to have a cup of coffee and a chat with our parents.

Warmest Regards,

Ngaire Astridge

Co-curricular Activities at AIS

Students at the Australian International School are encouraged to participate in the many varied opportunities that surround them both inside and outside the classroom. Through a program of sporting, social and cultural activities the intellectual, creative and personal talents of each individual are stimulated and nurtured.

The CCA Program begins starts in Year 2 as a lunchtime only program and continues from Year 3 to Year 12 as a lunchtime and after school program. All students in Year 2 through to Year 11 are encouraged to participate in at least one CCA per Semester; Year 12 students may elect to participate in the program if they wish.  The cocurricular activities on offer at AIS allow students to develop their creative and sporting capacities within a group of students with similar interests. The common bonds created through participation in these groups form the basis of a rich school culture and a community that celebrates diversity and excellence.

The School offers opportunities for students to be involved in a wide range of activities such as but not limited to:

  • Chess
  • Dance
  • Debating / public speaking
  • International cookery
  • Music (through the choir, music ensembles and bands)
  • NYAA
  • Robotics
  • Theatre

Participation sports are included in our CCA program, giving students the opportunity to try out new sports. Sporting activities are diverse, such as but not limited to:

  • AFL
  • Golf
  • Rock climbing
  • Scuba diving
  • Wake boarding
  • Yoga
  • Zumba

The Participative Sport Program also includes a number of development squads in sports such as netball, cricket and soccer which allow students to hone their skills in a non-representative setting.

Various Community & Service activities make up the third arm of the CCA Program.  These include programs which provide service to the School, the local community in Singapore and further afield in SE Asia.

Full details on what activities run in which sub-school and how to sign up students to the Program are provided during the Admissions Process, and are managed within our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).  Access to this community portal is password protected, which is provided once a student starts school.
