We aspire for every one of our students to have strength of character, resilience and the ability to dig deep – whether in the classroom or on the sports field. The character and courage that are developed through working as a team, coupled with ample opportunity for physical activity, leads in turn to mental agility and lasting skills for life.
At AIS we offer a wide range of sporting opportunities, which are introduced from a young age to encourage the development of teamwork, healthy habits and physical skills from which to build on. Every child that tries out for our representative teams is given the chance to compete - instead we field as many teams as we need, to ensure that every child gets the opportunity to compete and learn from their team mates and support that with training squads for students of all levels.
Character is the development of mind over matter, and to us it is as important as the development of fitness and skills. Our Coaching for Character program, for staff and parents, uses the latest research in adolescent and sports psychology to equip our students with the tools to build character through sport - be it in rugby, swimming, basketball, tennis, cricket, soccer or one of the many other sports on offer at AIS.
