Students at the Australian International School are encouraged to participate in the many varied opportunities that surround them both inside and outside the classroom. Through a program of sporting, social and cultural activities the intellectual, creative and personal talents of each individual are stimulated and nurtured.
The CCA Program begins starts in Year 2 as a lunchtime only program and continues from Year 3 to Year 12 as a lunchtime and after school program. All students in Year 2 through to Year 11 are encouraged to participate in at least one CCA per Semester; Year 12 students may elect to participate in the program if they wish. The cocurricular activities on offer at AIS allow students to develop their creative and sporting capacities within a group of students with similar interests. The common bonds created through participation in these groups form the basis of a rich school culture and a community that celebrates diversity and excellence.
The School offers opportunities for students to be involved in a wide range of activities such as but not limited to:
- Debating / public speaking
- International cookery
- Music (through the choir, music ensembles and bands)
Participation sports are included in our CCA program, giving students the opportunity to try out new sports. Sporting activities are diverse, such as but not limited to:
- Rock climbing
- Scuba diving
- Wake boarding
The Participative Sport Program also includes a number of development squads in sports such as netball, cricket and soccer which allow students to hone their skills in a non-representative setting.
Various Community & Service activities make up the third arm of the CCA Program. These include programs which provide service to the School, the local community in Singapore and further afield in SE Asia.
Full details on what activities run in which sub-school and how to sign up students to the Program are provided during the Admissions Process, and are managed within our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Access to this community portal is password protected, which is provided once a student starts school.
