Committed to excellence in education, the Australian International School offers a combination of robust Australian and international curriculum pathways to ensure that students reach their potential and have the tools to pursue the limitless options which await them after graduation. Equally, we focus on the importance of developing the ‘whole person’, –a student with the confidence, self-esteem and social acumen to take his or her place in today’s increasingly multicultural society and globalised world.
We are the only international school in Singapore for students aged 3 - 18 operating a Southern hemisphere school year, providing a seamless transition as they enter and leave Singapore.
We teach the Australian curriculum within an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework from Prep to Year 5 – and exclusively from Year 6 to Year 8 – giving our students a unique opportunity to learn within a globally focused teaching framework. In Years 9 and 10 we offer the academically rigorous International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) to ensure sufficient preparation for success in Year 11 and 12 where we offer two pathways; the IB Diploma Programme and the NSW HSC (Higher School Certificate), from which students choose according to their plans for college or university. Our 2013 Year 12 IB DP student body scored four points higher than the global average and had an average Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) score of over 92.
Academically, our students are in the high ability range and experience superior average growth compared with the best performing Australian state or territory, the ACT. This, combined with daily Mandarin lessons, a one-to-one IT device initiative from Prep to Year 12 and a dedicated professional learning centre to develop the highest calibre teachers, places our students in the best environment to exceed our and their expectations.
