Early Years Overview

AIS Early Years - ages 18 months to 5 years

From Pre-Nursery to Preschool 4 (P4)

At AIS Singapore, an IB World School, our preschool program for children from ages 18 months to 5 years, features a play-based, concept-driven curriculum that builds strong foundations in literacy, mathematics, science, and the arts.

Children thrive in our purpose-built Early Learning Village, with a 20m pool, gym, Innovation Lab, library, and 1,500m² of UV-covered outdoor play space. Specialist teachers in physical education, music, Mandarin, library visits and a screen-free STEM program nurture each child’s emerging passions.

Our personalised 'PreLit' early literacy program and a developmental milestone dashboard support building a vocabulary of over 2,000 words and early writing skills, exceeding expectations in numeracy and phonics. Children flourish in secure pods, growing in confidence, creativity and independence, ready for Elementary School and beyond.

“The Early Learning Village has many excellent facilities, which my son loves. The water play area, sand-pit, scooters, and playgrounds are suitable for his age group. He has also made many friends and loves attending school daily.”

Extended After-School Child Care

More time in the space built for their head start.

Extended care runs on the same standards as the school day: expert faculty, 1:5 ratios, an on-site nurse, and the same secure facility. Children move from their daily program into familiar pods and play areas, continuing the day’s learning through hands-on activities rather than starting something new.

Trusted educators and a home-like setting give children more time in the right space to grow.

Extended care runs until 6:00pm to support working families, and is currently available at no additional cost.

FAQs

Are Singaporean children eligible to attend AIS Early Years?

Yes. Singaporean children are welcome to attend Australian International School Early Years without exemption up to the age of 6. From Primary 1 age, Singaporean citizens are required to attend a national school, but during the early years there is no restriction. Many Singaporean families choose AIS for the IB curriculum, specialist teaching, and the richness of our international community before their child transitions to primary school. Our admissions team can advise on timing and transition planning.

Is AIS open to children of all nationalities?

Yes. As an international preschool in Singapore, AIS welcomes families from all nationalities. Our Early Years community represents over 50 nationalities, making it a genuinely international environment from the earliest years.

What ages does the Early Years program cover?

Our Early Years program welcomes children from 18 months to 5 years, from Pre-Nursery through to Preschool 4 (P4).

How much does the AIS Early Years program cost?

Fees vary depending on the number of days and whether your child attends half or full day. Full details are on our fees page, and our admissions team is happy to walk you through the options that suit your family.

How do I apply for a place?

You can apply through our online application portal. Our admissions team will guide you through each step, from initial enquiry through to your child’s first day. Book a tour or online consultation to get started.

Is there a waiting list?

Places are limited and demand is high, particularly for younger age groups. We recommend enquiring as early as possible. Contact our admissions team to check current availability.

Can my child transition directly to AIS Elementary?

Yes. AIS is a through-train school from 18 months to Year 13, meaning your child can move seamlessly from Early Years into Elementary without changing schools.
