As you may be aware there has recently been an increase in reported cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). We would like to reassure you that we are closely monitoring the situation, as well as taking advice from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ministry of Education (MOE) on best practice to ensure the health and safety of our community.

New visitors to the school will be asked to complete a travel declaration upon entry to the campus.

To support the wellbeing of our community we would ask any members of our community who have visited Mainland China to observe the following Leave of Absence (LOA) guidelines with regard to visiting the campus.

As advised by the Ministry of Health (MOH), with effect from 31 January 2020 6pm, all individuals who have been to Mainland China within the last 14 days are to be placed on a 14-day leave of absence.

AIS has additionally had this advisory in place for all staff and students from 15 January 2020 with the following requirements:

  • During the period of absence individuals are asked to monitor their temperature and general health.  Should you or your children experience any health issues please contact your doctor immediately.
  • The School will be providing on-line resources for students who are absent to ensure that their learning is not disrupted.

In order to protect both yourself and your family members, as well as the greater school community, we remind you to follow best practice guidelines:

  • Please encourage your child to practice safe hygiene by regularly and thoroughly washing their hands. Our teachers and nurses will be providing further education and support for our students with this and other hygiene practices.
  • Hand sanitizers are now located in all major traffic areas.
  • Please keep your child at home from school and seek medical attention immediately if you notice :

If you are a current parent at AIS, please refer to the Connect - Parent Portal for further information on precautionary measures in place for school activities.

We realise that these measures may place a slight imposition on you. We are grateful for your understanding and appreciate your assistance in helping us keep AIS a safe and healthy school community.
