2024 TERM 4: ONLINE ORIENTATION, FRIDAY OCTOBER 4TH

2025 ACADEMIC YEAR, ON CAMPUS ORIENTATION DAY: THURSDAY  16 JANUARY 2025 (COMPULSORY)

Before commencing school, it is a requirement that your child attends Orientation Day, accompanied by a Parent / Guardian and/or English-speaking Agent/communicator.

Orientation Day is an important part of your child’s introduction to school life at AIS and it’s an opportunity for you to understand school life and where to arrive for the first day of classes, Monday 20 January, 8am.

You may also purchase uniforms and organise lunches, buses or other services.

No uniforms are required for Orientation.

Date: Thursday 16 January 2025 (Gate 3 Entrance for arrival) – Gate 3 AIS listed on all taxi apps – Grab / Zig

• EARLY YEARS: Registration from 8.30am – 12noon
• SECONDARY SCHOOl: Registration from 8.45am – 12noon
• ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Registration from 10am – 1.15pm

What To Expect

• Registration in the Small Gym (Staff will direct you where to go)
• Welcome from the Head of the Sub-School
• Visit classrooms and meet teachers to ensure a smooth day where parents and students know where to go and what to expect

You will return to the MPH after your tour to visit various booths set up for your convenience.

1. Uniform Shop
2. Parents Association (AISPA) members: Meet AISPA members, connect to the Classlist App and visit the Preloved Uniform Shop
3. IT for Secondary Students: to get software added to their personal laptops
4. Nurses: To understand School health policies, procedures and services available
5. Transport: Understand the various kinds of school bus options and on-the-spot sign-up for bus service, including issuance of bus cards
6. Canteen: Take a look at the canteen menu and pre-order
7. School Sports and Co-Curricular Activities (CCA): Find out what CCAs and Sports are available for the respective ages, sign-up dates and process.

Take note

Orientation Day is one of the most exciting days of the AIS calendar. We look forward to welcoming you and your family as you embark on the first part of your AIS adventure.

To avoid line-ups, please submit all necessary documentation, personal details (Singapore phone numbers and address) and payment of the tuition fees before Orientation Day.

Please note the following:

• Please arrive on time as there will be only one class tour per class, and one briefing to inform you of important notes for your child’s first day of school. Additionally, we need to finalise any outstanding documents such as your local address, phone numbers, visa requirements and health and allergy declarations.
• Only one parent/guardian is required at the Small Gym for registration. This will enable you to finalise any outstanding documents, details (addresses and phone numbers) or visa requirements
• Please contact your respective Enquiry / Admissions Manager if you have any questions or queries.

Unable to attend Orientation Day?

If for some reason, you are unable to attend Orientation Day, we will need to schedule an enrolment meeting for both your child and a parent or guardian to attend before the commencement of school.

Getting Ready for Day 1

For the First Day Of School, please ensure you drop off your child at 8 am. Our Admissions Staff will be stationed at each gate, easily identifiable in their white AIS shirts, ready to assist you if needed. Or if your lost, simply say to anybody ‘Excuse me, we are new to AIS’ and they will help you.

If you’re arriving by taxi, it’s important to note that taxi drivers and taxi apps offer different gates as options for drop-off.

For families with children in different sub-schools, here’s what you need to do:

• If you have children in both Early Years and Elementary, please proceed to the Early Learning Village (ELV) and then cross over the Music Bridge to reach Elementary.
• For families with children in Elementary and Secondary, head to Gate 1 and make your way to the Theatre.

First Day Welcome Coffee

After dropping off your child, we extend an invitation to join us for a coffee morning at the Billabong Cafe (Gate 3). This informal gathering presents an excellent opportunity to connect with other new families, meet our Leadership Team in person and explore the school campus if you haven’t had the chance to do so already.

Our uniform shop is now offering online ordering with a $10 delivery fee.

If your children wish to utilise the bus service, please see details here. You will be required to complete the bus registration and health declaration form and return to your Admissions Manager or aisbus@jtt.com.sg

* Do note that processing and confirmation of your child’s bus registration can take up to 2 weeks, do ensure your child’s bus form is sent to us as soon as you can.

All our Secondary School students are required to have a laptop. The school has a preferred seller, Innocom who gives our families exceptional value.

Once you have your laptop, we do ask that the students follow the below steps to prepare their laptop before the Orientation Day on Friday, 19th July.

Canteen services are a critical part of the School’s provision, not least because we are all aware that nutritionally balanced food options for children can encourage them to engage in healthy eating habits as they continue to grow. Our school canteens cater for students in Early Years, Elementary and Secondary according to their age-specific needs and preferences.

The two AIS canteens are managed for the School by Sodexo. Founded in 1966 by Pierre Bellon in Marseille, France, Sodexo is now the worldwide leader in Quality-of-Life Services. In Singapore, we have over 300 Sodexo Education staff serving more than 10,500 meals every day. They have been working with schools and colleges since 1999.

Sodexo produces their dishes fresh on site, made from principal ingredients, created and anaylsed by qualified chefs and dedicated service teams.
