AIS Sharks Make a Splash at 2025 JS ACSIS Swim Meet

On Saturday, 17 May, 36 AIS Sharks took to the water at the 2025 Junior School ACSIS Swim Meet, hosted at the Canadian International School. Representing the Australian International School with pride and determination, our Junior School swimmers put on an impressive display of talent, teamwork, and tenacity.

While not all events ran as scheduled due to the weather, our Sharks remained focused and adaptable, with many students unable to swim their full slate of races. Nevertheless, the AIS team delivered a standout performance across both individual and relay events.

Medal Highlights

Four AIS swimmers brought home a total of six individual medals and two relay medals, including:

  • Lachlan W – 2 Gold (Backstroke, Breaststroke)
  • Lachlan Y – 1 Gold (Freestyle)
  • Allister – 1 Silver (Butterfly)
  • Allister – 1 Bronze (Freestyle)
  • Billy – 1 Silver (Backstroke)

Boys 10–11 Years Shine

A special congratulations goes to our 10–11-year-old boys, who dominated their age group, winning five of the six individual events. Ten-year-old Allister stood out with a Silver and Bronze in individual events while racing against older competitors.

Our relay teams also showed impressive depth, with the ‘B’ Medley Relay team finishing 6th overall—beating several schools’ top teams and all other ‘B’ relays.

Top 16 Performances

Across the board, our students delivered strong swims, securing numerous Top 16 finishes—a great measure of competitive success. Highlights included:

  • Boys ‘A’ 4 x 50 Freestyle Relay – Allister, Lachlan W, Billy, Lachlan Y
  • Boys ‘A’ 4 x 50 Medley Relay – Billy, Lachlan W, Allister, Lachlan Y

Multiple top finishes from swimmers, including Max, Rania, Heliena, Rosalie, and Benjamin in both individual and team events.

A Proud Performance

Despite a few changes to the event lineup, the spirit of our swimmers never wavered. Their resilience, sportsmanship, and drive made AIS proud. Congratulations to all our swimmers and coaches for a fantastic meet.

Well done, Sharks!
