PJ Roberts was appointed Managing Director – Operations at the Australian International School (AIS) in January 2019 and is responsible for the school’s enterprise operations, commercial performance and strategic execution. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, he provides executive oversight across Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Facilities, Procurement, Marketing & Admissions, Communications, Community Engagement, Compliance, Health and Safety, and Enterprise Risk.
PJ brings more than 20 years of executive leadership experience across international education, financial services, market intelligence and performance technology, complemented by a distinguished background in professional sport.
A qualified educator, PJ first joined AIS as a Secondary School teacher in 2005–2006 before embarking on a successful corporate career in regional leadership roles with ANZ, Nielsen and Catapult. His unique blend of educational and commercial experience enables him to connect strategy, operations and people while maintaining a strong focus on delivering outstanding outcomes for students, families and staff.
Prior to his corporate career, PJ played professional football in Australia, Malaysia and Singapore, and captained Australia at the 1996 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Spain. These experiences helped shape his collaborative leadership style and lifelong commitment to building high-performing teams.
Beyond AIS, PJ is a respected member of the Australian and New Zealand community in Singapore. He served as President of the Australian and New Zealand Association (ANZA) for 12 years, providing strategic leadership to one of Singapore’s largest community organisations. He now serves as an ANZA Ambassador and Honorary Life Member. PJ has also enjoyed a long-standing television career as a football commentator and analyst across the Asia-Pacific region.
PJ holds a Master of Business Administration (High Distinction) from the University of Western Australia, a Bachelor of Education from the University of Canberra, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services from Kaplan Australia.
In 2025, PJ was recognised by the Australian High Commission in Singapore as a ’60 for 60′ Honouree, celebrating 60 individuals who have made significant contributions to the Australia–Singapore relationship in commemoration of 60 years of bilateral partnership.
PJ is passionate about creating an environment where students, staff and families thrive. Together with his wife, Jo, a member of the AIS Admissions team, they are proud parents of their son, Ashleigh, and are grateful to be part of the AIS community.
