Alex Kelly brings extensive experience in safeguarding, inclusion, and educational leadership across the UK and the Middle East. His career began in the United Kingdom, where he worked with diverse and vulnerable communities, teaching Key Stage 2 and supporting students with English as an Additional Language (EAL).
In 2017, Alex moved to Abu Dhabi, where he spent five years in large international schools. During this time, he held leadership positions including Head of Year and Whole School Digital Literacy Lead, developing a strong commitment to student wellbeing, inclusion, and pastoral care within international settings. Alongside his professional responsibilities, Alex completed a Master of Education and the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO).
Returning to the UK in 2022, Alex served as Assistant Headteacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), leading school improvement initiatives and strengthening support systems for students and families. He continued his leadership development by completing the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) and played a key role in two successful Ofsted inspections.
Alex joins the Australian International School as Whole School Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). He is passionate about creating safe, inclusive environments where every child can thrive and is excited to become part of the AIS community alongside his wife and two children.
