Character Development Through Sports

Student Life - Australian International School (AIS)

At the Australian International School, our aim is for the Elementary students to be physically literate, and to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.

Children in Prep to Year 5 in the Australian International School in Singapore (AIS) have the opportunity to participate in different learning experiences through physical activities and sports.

Personal, Social And Physical Education

Personal, social and physical education (PSPE) is concerned with the development of knowledge, attitudes and skills related to personal, social and physical well‐being in order to make healthy lifestyle choices.

This is embedded into the daily practice of teachers and counsellors and is an integral part of the Programme of Inquiry.

Physical Education is taught by the specialist Physical Education teachers at AIS Elementary School.

The path and pace of development in PSPE is unique to each learner within each year level.

AIS Sporting Programmes

At AIS, the development of character through sport is just as important as the development of skills.

Your child will have the opportunity to try a wide range of sports through our Co-Curricular Activity programme (CCA), develop their swimming skills through our Learn to Swim and Stroke Development Programme, and to join one of our many competitive sports teams.

Whether it’s playing for fun or representing the team at competition level, your child’s love of sport and development of character is nurtured and celebrated.

Contact us if you have questions about our inclusive sporting programmes and life at AIS in general.
