Dr Skye Tyler is an experienced educator and leader originally from Sydney, with nearly two decades of teaching in Independent Schools across Sydney and Canberra. A passionate Humanities teacher, Skye has held a range of leadership positions in student wellbeing, including roles as Head of House and Director of Students. She holds a Masters of Teaching, a Masters of Childhood and Youth Studies, and most recently completed her PhD. Her doctoral research, “Building a Whole School Approach to Wellbeing: An Exploration of Classroom Care Practices,” investigated how care practices embedded in routine teaching and learning contribute to students feeling known, valued, and supported within the school environment.
Since joining AIS in 2024, Skye has led the re-development of the AIS Wellbeing Program, creating a set of wellbeing outcomes and themes tailored to the developmental needs of students in each year level. She has also initiated a Parent Partnership Series in collaboration with the school counselling team, aimed at strengthening school–home connections. Skye leads the wellbeing team in the Secondary School and serves as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (Secondary School).
