Australian International School Community Day 2024

The Australian International School had its Community Day on Friday, 25 January 2024. It was a special day where we celebrated being both ‘Australian’ and ‘International’.

Commemoration Highlights

Students and staff wore bright clothes that showed their connection to Australia. We celebrated our diverse community and respected each other’s backgrounds.

Acknowledging Traditions

During the event, we thanked the Traditional Custodians of Country for their deep ties to the land and sea. We honoured Custodians not just in Singapore but also in Australia, New Zealand, and other places. In each year group, we had meaningful talks about our shared history and the different cultures among us. These conversations helped us understand what it means to be Australian and appreciate everyone’s backgrounds.

Story Time with Our Principal

Our Principal, Adam Patterson, shared stories with our 2S Class about why Community Day and Australia Day are important. His stories and displays helped us learn more about Australian culture.

Celebrating Unity in Diversity

The best part was seeing students show their Australian identity through their clothes and art. Their creativity made us proud of our community. With over 50 different nationalities, we’re happy to see how our diverse community came together on Community Day. Embracing our differences makes our school stronger and more vibrant.
