From coast to coast, Singapore is filled with fun activities and spaces for the little ones to enjoy, especially playgrounds.

So if you’re looking for a place to take your kids for some outdoor fun over the weekend, you’re in luck!

Check out our top 10 playground picks across the country that blend both excitement with enrichment.

10 Exciting Singapore Outdoor Playgrounds To Unleash Imagination

1. Children’s Garden: Gardens by the Bay

Starting strong on our list is the Far East Organisation’s Children’s Garden at Gardens by the Bay

With the Water Play and Fish Fountain sections being the main highlight of this outdoor playground, you may want to bring a swimsuit and an extra set of clothes for your kids!

For those who prefer not to get soaked, the place also features a dry playground decked in all things treehouse-themed with a series of rope walks and a 130-metre nature trail for the brave little ones.

2. Tanjong Pagar Eco Outdoor Playground

Just a stone’s throw away from the Tanjong Pagar MRT exit is the Tanjong Pagar Eco Outdoor Playground

Smacked right in the heart of the city, this outdoor playground in the Tanjong Pagar Community Green boasts 1,650 square meters of outdoor space where both the young and the young at heart (and even your fur babies!) can run around freely.

Compared to traditional playgrounds with slides and monkey bars, this grass field has some fun structures made from repurposed tree logs and even dynamo bicycles that convert the kinetic energy to power the fairy lights scattered around the area!

How cool is that?

3. Changi Beach Park Playground

Searching for a place where your kids can play while enjoying seaside views? Look no further than Changi Beach Park Playground

Known as one of Singapore’s oldest coastal parks, you can find plenty of different themed playgrounds at Changi Beach Park. From stimulating rope structures that resemble a spider web to sand play areas with a nautical theme, the children will definitely be spoilt for choice.

After you’re done, you can head straight over to Changi Village Hawker Centre for a hearty meal with the whole family.

4. Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden

Located at Singapore Botanic Gardens, Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden is the first and largest garden in Asia dedicated to children to instil a love for nature in the little ones.

Not only does this playground encourage outdoor play, but it also allows children to learn more about different plants, insects, and the environment with various play areas.

Some of the crowd’s favourites in the space include the classic treehouse slides, sand pit, various mazes as well as a mini forest with little ponds.

To add to the excitement, there are also new features that have been added such as the wheelchair trampoline, flying fox, and a scenic canopy walkway.

5. Como Adventure Grove

Moving over to the Gallop Extension at Singapore Botanic Gardens, there’s yet another outdoor playground for the kids to enjoy.

Drawing inspiration from forest canopies and Singapore’s vast greenery, the COMO Adventure Grove is a nature paradise filled with lots to explore.

The focal point of the entire park is the Weeping Fig Tower, where you can climb to the top for splendid views of the gardens. For the adrenaline junkies, be sure not to miss the swings, hammocks, and tube slides!

6. Jubilee Park at Fort Canning

Nestled in the heart of River Valley and walking distance from Fort Canning MRT station, Jubilee Park is yet another nature-inspired recreational space for the young and old alike.

What makes this playground special is how all of the equipment is seamlessly built to blend with its natural surroundings, especially the slides built into the slopes.

From bouncy nets, wooden log obstacles, seesaws and bucket swings, it’s impossible for the little ones to run out of things to do here.

7. Tiong Bahru Park Playground

Looking for something in the heartlands that’s a little more lowkey? Then Tiong Bahru Park Playground’s your next go-to

One thing that’ll catch your attention right off the bat is this elaborate and unique train structure, that’s reminiscent of how older playgrounds in the heartlands of Singapore used to be.

Abstract, whacky, and themed play areas that invite childlike play and wonder at every corner.

8. Marina Bay Playground

Don’t confuse our next entry for the one in Gardens by the Bay, which is only a few minute’s walk away. Designed for ages 5 to 12, the Marina Bay Playground is the one located right next to the Red Dot Design Museum

Despite the area being relatively smaller than usual playgrounds, it’s still an exciting space with different structures like pyramids and several climbing features to evoke fun in the heart of the city.

This allows children to explore different ways to have fun and be creative in the way they use the space and equipment.

9. ForestPlay Nature Adventure Playground

Now heading over to Sentosa Island, we have Singapore’s first nature adventure playground: ForestPlay

Run by the renowned eco-inspired enrichment centre for children, Kidz Treehouse, this space is all about encouraging unstructured play, where kids are given the freedom to explore and discover what nature play means to them.

This 13,000-square-foot play area hosts a bunch of different activities to choose from such as a mud and sand play area, nature swings, learning circles, and several different obstacle courses.

10. Coastal Playgrove at East Coast Park

Last but definitely not least is East Coast Park’s Coastal Playgrove

A crowd favourite amongst locals, the first thing that will greet you once you arrive is the iconic Play Tower, standing at 16 metres high and is better known as the country’s tallest outdoor play feature!

With a 4-storey net play area, long tube slides on the third and fourth floor, a water play area, and a nature play garden complete with sandpits for the full experience, all the kids visiting will be spoilt for choice for sure.

Be sure to treat your little ones and the whole family to a delicious after-play treat along the park, where you can find a variety of eateries to satisfy your cravings.
