Language-learning is second nature to young learners. Due to the brain’s proclivity for communication, children are internally motivated to immerse themselves and soak up any language they are exposed to. To harness these natural talents, AIS teachers encourage strong bonds with home languages and use these as building blocks and foundation for the learning of additional languages. Through play, expressive body language, daily rituals, songs and stories, and the multilingual social environment, children quickly pick up languages as they would normally their mother tongue. Language becomes an authentic tool for communication rather than an additional subject. It is thus fully integrated in everything children do at school.
