We’re delighted to introduce you to a music education at AIS, a place where talented young individuals are nurtured to inspire audiences with their musicality.

With dedicated programs covering 21 instruments and extensive choir and voice opportunities, our students have every opportunity to participate as beginner musicians, or join a professional ensembles that extends our most able artists.

A Year Of Music & Drama At AISFollow Our Artists On A Creative Journey Across A Year Of Arts Celebrations

  • Students audition for our 3 drama productions and 16 music ensembles, which offer over 100 performance opportunities in a year.
  • High-performing music students in our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme perform their first solo and group recitals, and are assessed on their critical thinking, research and creative composition skills.

March Mr Richard James Gill OAM, internationally renowned conductor and music educator, joins AIS as part of the Inventors & Mentors program to share with students, staff and parents the impact of music on creativity and learning.
  • In a tradition almost as old as AIS itself, the AIS Choir performs each year at the ANZAC Day Memorial Service at the Kranji War Memorial Cemetery to commemorate the efforts of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps during World War I.
  • May
    The Year 2 Choir, our youngest official ensemble at AIS, shows their appreciation for all mothers in Singapore with a joyous Mother’s Day performance at Gardens by the Bay, complete with dance moves and percussion play.
  • Singers and instrumentalists across Elementary and Secondary showcase a broad range of music styles at the annual AIS Music Ensemble. The event, held at the world-class Yong Siew Toh Conservatory, includes vocal acts from four choirs, a jazz number from the Dixieland Band, performances by the Soul Band, Strings Quartet and more.
  • Student rock bands, dance groups and solo singers perform cultural acts at the International Cultural Exhibition (ICE), an annual event celebrating our diverse community of over 50 nationalities.
  • Our Strings Quartet is invited to perform at the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce’s Aotearoa Ball, where they entertain and impress over 450 guests with a selection of popular classical compositions.
  • The Elementary Choir is invited to perform at the opening ceremony for the Koala Exhibition at the Singapore Zoo, highlighting AIS’s unique Australian heritage and appreciation for Singapore as a host country for our international community.
  • The Secondary Drama Production performs Skellig, a powerful and moving play in the magic realism genre. Our students display a deep level of maturity in their creative thinking to convey the surreal and intriguing sensation that is characteristic of this piece.
  • Lower and Upper Elementary students sing at the annual Remembrance Day Assembly to commemorate those who died or suffered for Australia’s cause in armed conflicts. Students also observe a minute’s silence and learn about the significance of the occasion.
  • To mark the end of the academic year and the beginning of the festive season, the Elementary Choir brings out the holiday spirit with Christmas carols at a charity concert held at Raffles Hotel.

Australian International School, Singapore

The Australian International School is the only southern-hemisphere school in Singapore that offers an Australian curriculum-based global education for students from the age of 2 months to 18 years.
